Erica Flavia Alio-Warr is an integrative therapist, educator, and
interdisciplinary researcher with over twenty years of experience in health,
education, and therapeutic programme development. She is currently a
doctoral researcher in Educational Music Therapy and the neurophysiology
of language acquisition at Global University, where her work explores the
intersection of musical cognition, therapeutic processes, and embodied
learning. In addition, she is presently pursuing a Doctorate in Public Health
and Global Health at Universidad Continental, further strengthening her
interdisciplinary engagement with global health systems and community-
based wellbeing.
She holds an MA in Clinical Music Therapy from Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (Spain), a Licentiate in
Educational Management from Universidad Nacional de La Matanza (Argentina), and university-level
qualifications in palliative medicine, EnglishâSpanish translation, and holistic health approaches. She is also a
state-licensed Naturopath in Germany and holds a Ph.D. in Alternative Medicine (India).
Throughout her career, Alio-Warr has worked extensively in palliative care, neurology, and psychosocial
support, serving as a therapist and lecturer at the Universitätsmedizin Greifswald in both the Palliative Care
Unit and the Parkinson Complex Programme. Her clinical practice integrates music therapy, complementary
therapeutic techniques, and trauma-informed methods to support patients experiencing complex
symptomatology, emotional distress, and existential challenges at the end of life. Since 2015, she has
directed a private integrative practice, designing therapeutic interventions and providing training for
healthcare professionals.
She is an accomplished higher education lecturer and integrative therapist, currently teaching at DIPLOMA
Hochschule (Germany) and collaborating as a lecturer with the Bundeswehr Education Centre in Munich,
where she served until last year. Over the course of her career, she has taught a diverse range of subjects,
from diagnostic methods in naturopathy and integrative therapies to bilingual academic writing, reflecting
her interdisciplinary depth and pedagogical versatility.
In addition, she worked for more than sixteen years as a therapist and lecturer at the University of
Greifswald and its affiliated University Clinic, contributing significantly to academic instruction, clinical
practice, and the integration of therapeutic methodologies within higher education. Her professional
engagement spans Europe and Latin America, with a strong focus on curriculum design, adult education,
multilingual communication, and innovative, practice-oriented pedagogical approaches.

As an author, Alio-Warr has published scientific articles, case studies, and applied research in integrative
therapies, palliative care, and complementary medicine. Her publications include work on cognitive decline,
pain modulation, fibromyalgia, and music-based interventions in oncology. She is also the author of
educational materials, bilingual textbooks, childrenâs literature, and semioticâtherapeutic creative works.
Her artistic background includes vocal performance training in Vienna and Buenos Aires, with participation in
interdisciplinary projects and concerts in Europe and Latin America.
Her work has been supported by international grants, including a Rotary International Cultural
Representative Scholarship (ArgentinaâUSA, 1995â1996) and a grant for the Mozart Masterclass at the Mitte
Europa Festival (GermanyâAustriaâCzech Republic, 2003).
Her current research interests focus on music therapy in palliative care, trauma re-signification, language
acquisition through music, and embodied approaches to integrative health.
