Dr. Gloria Alpini (MPhil, PhD, University of Cambridge) is a Research Fellow at
CISDEL, University of Urbino, Italy. A scholar of Comparative Literature and
bilingual education, her research explores AI-empowered CLIL (Content and
Language Integrated Learning) within the wider fields of digital pedagogy and
intercultural education. Educated in Cambridge, Paris, and Milan, she
developed CLILIA, an AI-integrated, transdisciplinary approach designed to
foster empathy, ethical awareness, and intercultural dialogue through
inclusive models of learning
Her work bridges the humanities and educational technology, exploring how
artificial intelligence can be harnessed to preserve the human essence at the heart of education. In addition
to her research on language pedagogy, she specializes in Enlightenment womenβs writing and the history of
education, and has held academic appointments at the University of Warwick, The Pennsylvania State
University, and institutions in the Middle East.
