Professor Taher Badinjki is a research-oriented academic professional. His interest is in English Literature in general, and in the nineteenth-century English Novel in particular. Professor Badinjki’s research contribution includes more than 25 research papers in journals of international repute, in addition to nine translated and composed books, and a fair number of international conference presentations.
He is a member of world high-ranked societies like The Royal Society of Arts in London, and was selected and listed in the Marquis Who's Who in The World, as one of the biographees in the field of English Language and Literature, 25th edition, 2008.
He is actively functioning in different roles as a reviewer, member of the editorial board of many international refereed and specialized journals of English Literature, Humanities, and Social Sciences. He has served as a session chair in many international conferences, MA examiner, and is presently supervising MA students in English Literature. He served as the Dean of The Faculty of Arts at the University of Aleppo in Syria from 1997 to 2000, and the Dean of the College of Arts at Ittihad Private University in the UAE from 2004 till July 2007. In an entrepreneurial capacity, he organized a number of conferences, symposiums, and training courses for academic purposes.
He obtained his PhD in English Literature from Glasgow University in the UK in 1985 and an MLitt from Edinburgh University in English Literature. Dr. Badinjki has worked at Al-Zaytoonah University, but he is now an independent and self-employed researcher in France.
