Claudia Zucca is from English and Italian extraction, born in South Africa. She completed her Ph.D. at Trinity College Dublin in Comparative Literature, her MA at Sussex University in Creative Writing and her BA (hon) at The Open University, UK. She is an English Professor and examiner at the University of Cagliari, Italy. She also Lectures at the Faculty of Human Sciences, in Primary Education Practice and Theory.
She is an external member of the board of examiners at the University of Madras, Chepauk, Chennai- 600 005. She is also a member on the Advisory Board (IAB) for Horizon Journal of Humanities & Social Sciences Research (JHSSR) since 2022. and a member of the American Comparative Literary Association (ACLA) since 2020.
Her research is interdisciplinary, combining studies in the fields of literary translingualism and linguistics. She has participated in various international conferences and workshops where she has discussed research methodologies. She has also discussed the significance of the term translingual in literature and contact studies, digital translingual platforms and art, women’s contemporary translingual writing and talked about politics and narratives of the body in post-colonial contexts. She has published articles on the origins of translingualism and is currently being peer reviewed on her work in self-translation in translingual contexts. Furthermore, she writes topics on the feminine and the body.
Her research also includes an investigation of oral, written and digital texts, as well as the performative to provide ample examples of the way the translingual may be understood in globalised contexts.
